Professional stabling for horses over 3 years old
When people think of boarding, they often think of livery, but that is not possible with us. We offer professional boarding specifically aimed at horses that are involved in breeding, rearing or one of our other specialized services. Our boarding offer is ideal for:
1. Pregnant Mares
- We offer optimal care for pregnant mares, paying attention to their well-being and the health of the unborn foal. Our stables are designed for maximum safety and comfort.
2. Guste Mares / Carry Mares
- Mares that are not pregnant can stay with us on the farm. We provide the right nutrition and care, tailored to their needs, so that they remain in top condition for any future covering.
3. Horses in Rehabilitation
- Horses that need to go through a rehabilitation program receive the care and attention they need. We work together with veterinarians and rehabilitation specialists to ensure that the horse recovers well and becomes fully fit again.
4. Retirement horses
- We also offer boarding for older horses that have retired. These horses enjoy a quiet, safe environment, with sufficient pasture and appropriate care for their age.
Our professional stables are fully focused on the well-being and specific needs of your horse. We do not offer regular boarding stables, but focus on horses that need care in connection with breeding, rehabilitation or retirement.
Professional rearing for horses under 3 years old
Rearing is one of the core activities of our company. Where both stabling and full pasture during the summer period is possible. We guarantee a good rearing period where the horse and the quality are paramount.
Grouping and Socialization
Horse rearing goes beyond simply placing a foal in a group. It is crucial that foals learn to interact with their peers and understand the hierarchy within the group. We ensure that the foals are placed in manageable groups of 4 to a maximum of 12 horses, so that there is a good balance between socialization and individual attention.
In the winter, the groups have access to spacious stables with outdoor areas, so that they get enough exercise. During the grazing period, the group composition remains the same, which ensures stability and promotes healthy group dynamics. This constant interaction helps the foals develop into social, balanced and well-adjusted horses.
Handiness and Regular Care
During the rearing period it is essential that the horses are handled and cared for regularly, so that they remain accessible to us and you. This regular handling ensures that the horses are easy to handle during deworming, vaccinations and at the farrier. It also ensures that at the end of the rearing period you take home a manageable and pleasant horse, that is used to regular care and human contact.
Pasture
The grazing period runs from approximately 1 May to 1 October. During this period we offer the horses full 24/7 grazing. This ensures that the horses get enough exercise and social contact every day, which is essential for their physical and mental development. Thanks to the spacious and safe pastures, the horses can live in a natural environment, which contributes to their overall well-being.
Additional services during or just after the rearing period
In addition to our extensive care and guidance during the rearing period, we offer various additional services to ensure that your horse is well prepared for the future.
1. Taking X-rays
- We offer the possibility to have x-rays taken to monitor the health and development of your horse. This is ideal for early detection of possible bone problems or in preparation for sale or training.
2. Saddle breaking
- We provide a thorough and calm saddle training process, in which your horse is prepared in a safe way to carry a rider. This process is custom-made, tailored to the needs and character of the horse.
3. Care Transport for OCD Operation (if necessary)
- If your horse needs an OCD operation or another operation, we can arrange transport to the clinic. If desired, this can be combined with castration, so that both operations can take place at once.
4. Castration at Home (standing)
- We offer the possibility to perform castrations at home. This is done standing and under local anesthesia, which ensures less stress for your horse.
5. Jumping off
- We offer the possibility to participate in free jumping days, which we organize in the months of November and April. During these days your horses get the chance to show their jumping qualities in a controlled environment. These days are ideal to introduce young horses to jumping or to further improve their skills.
6. Riding Your Horse
- After the rearing period we can continue to ride and train your horse. This process is built up slowly, with attention to the horse's trust and physical development.
7. Transport of your horse
- We work together with transport companies, so if you need transport and you cannot arrange it yourself, we will arrange the transport for you (worldwide)
These additional services ensure that your horse is optimally prepared for the next phases in its development, both for sports and recreation. We offer customization and extensive guidance to ensure that your horse is in the best condition.
Feed policy
A good feeding policy is essential for the health and development of your horse, and this starts with the pregnancy of your mare. We provide a balanced diet that is tailored to the needs of each horse, with attention to both roughage and concentrates.
Roughage
- Hay: We feed exclusively meadow hay because of its stable nutritional value and lower acidity compared to haylage and silage. Meadow hay is much better suited for horses, because it ensures healthy digestion and a balanced energy supply.
- Alfalfa pellets and linseed oil: In addition to hay, the horses are fed alfalfa and linseed oil. Linseed oil helps to correct the phosphorus-calcium ratio of pure alfalfa, which is essential for the health of the horses. Alfalfa itself is particularly suitable for horses due to its high protein and energy content, which is crucial for the growth of young horses.
Concentrated feed
- Chunks and Muesli: The concentrated feed we offer is tailored to the age and specific needs of each horse. This ensures that they receive the right amount of energy, vitamins and minerals to support their development and performance.
Through a well-balanced feeding policy, we offer optimal support for the growth, health and performance of your horse, from pregnant mare to adult sports horse.
Care: Vaccinations, Deworming, Farrier and Dental Care
Vaccinations
We follow the advice of the FEI & KNHS to optimally protect your horses.
Foals:
- From 6 months: vaccinate 3 times against influenza and tetanus, then repeat every 6 months.
- Vaccinations against EHV Type 1 & 4 (rhino) are also mandatory on our farm.
- If your foal has not yet been vaccinated, we will ensure the correct vaccinations.
Optional Vaccinations:
- Strangles and West Nile virus are optional and can be administered on request.
Deworming and Manure Testing
We regularly carry out manure tests on both young and older horses to prevent worm infestations.
- Manure testing: This is carried out on a random basis per group, or individually when a new foal or horse is introduced.
- Deworming: Based on the results of the manure test and in consultation with veterinarians, we ensure effective deworming.
Hoof care
Proper hoof care is crucial, especially in young horses.
- The farrier is present at our company at least once a week to correct and maintain incorrect hoof positions in a timely manner, so that the hooves can develop properly.
Oral care
Regular dental check-ups are essential, especially because horse teeth are continuously growing.
- We provide periodic dental checks, especially as the horse ages, to prevent problems such as overgrown teeth or sharp edges.
With this extensive care and attention we strive for the well-being and optimal development of all horses on our farm.
